Don't Waste Your Life

Life's a journey - don't forget to unpack.

Where it all meets

Perhaps then, it is at the cross of Christ that we find what we crave for most deeply in this world. Love and sacrifice, justice and mercy, faithfulness and grace. It is at the cross of Christ that all these meet, and if we dig deep enough into the core of our being, we will find that these are the things we will live and die for. - Me

To you, my reader. :)

There, look on me, so that you may not praise me beyond what I am; there, believe me, not others, about myself; there, attend to me and see what I have been in myself, through myself. - St Augustine

Nightmare

Phew. At least this part is over. Although this module is actually quite enriching in terms of learning stuff like video shooting skills, camera modes, editing programmes etc, but I must say it is really the most siong module of all. It just takes up such a sheer humongous amount of time.

Hai. Last night from 11 onwards till today at 1pm was an utter nightmare. ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING that could go wrong WENT WRONG. First we discovered at 1030 that we had a whole day of recording that had totally no sound. We didn't know about it before that because Sze Yin told us not to wind back the tape to review. So we didn't. And we wound up with ONE WHOLE DAY'S WORTH OF FILMING in silence. Solution: refilm the 3 crucial scenes with interviews. The only thing was, the 3 interviews we filmed were of eileen, fanny and me, with rebecca doing the transiting narration. I was the only one at KR at 1130 that night, and so.. i was filmed this time. Kinda like the Trinity (ok this is getting blasphemous).. i acted as 3 different persons but was in essence the same person.. hahahahaha

then we extracted that and did some editing.. and when we were finally going to save it out onto the miniDV.. ALAS!!! we couldn't do it! we tried and tried for about 2 hours, finally did something that we hoped would work, left it to run for the night and went to sleep.

this morning at about 1030 i got a call from Yijia: OEI!!!! Still cannot!!!!

At that point I really wanted to die, but I'm sure Yijia wanted to die more than me. I got him the number of the staff and he called them. Said they'd call back but the toot just didn't bother. I told him at about 12 to pack the stuff up and we'd barge into the office and ask for help.

Finally after an hour of frustration and the calming and cheerful presence of Eileen and waffle, and of course the help from the staff, we eventually managed to get it out at 1:01pm. 1 minute after the submission time.

What a nightmare. To be frank, I've never had a project THIS badly done before. I realised today that I actually have a competitive streak inside me. I don't hafta be the first and the best, but i need to know i've put in my effort, and for this project i really think the whole group could've done more. I mean, after the 2nd session of filming on Wed, nobody asked about the project anymore and it was kinda left to me and Yijia to do. I think probably me and Yijia wouldn't have felt so lousy (and lonely) if we had the whole group working on it together.

Well well. Lesson learnt. Work harder next time! :)
