Don't Waste Your Life

Life's a journey - don't forget to unpack.

Where it all meets

Perhaps then, it is at the cross of Christ that we find what we crave for most deeply in this world. Love and sacrifice, justice and mercy, faithfulness and grace. It is at the cross of Christ that all these meet, and if we dig deep enough into the core of our being, we will find that these are the things we will live and die for. - Me

To you, my reader. :)

There, look on me, so that you may not praise me beyond what I am; there, believe me, not others, about myself; there, attend to me and see what I have been in myself, through myself. - St Augustine

Tse Char - vote leh!

I just realised, after 7pm, many of the coffeeshops near my house are closed le. However, I just realised that there are THREE tze char stalls within 1 min walk of each other! I've always eaten only from one stall, so I decided to give the other two a shot.

One has failed my price test already. The ah-pek charged me $5 for sweet and sour pork on rice, when the other tze char stall charged me $4. It tasted more or less the same. And he tried to sell me a whole curry fish head when it was clear I was alone. Like wth.

I tried the other stall today, ordered a Hokkien Mee. You noe.. the black black gravy with the thick yellow noodles. Hm. Not bad leh, but after eating it, don't have the 爽到 feeling, like my brother says.

Then I was thinking, if I want to judge these three stalls, I should judge them based on the same dish right?

My mom always says, the true test of a good tze char stall is in the Hor Fun. But I don't like Hor Fun.

What other dish would perfectly embody a tze char stall for me to test out all 3 stalls on the same basis?

Vote leh!

1. Dry beef horfun
2. Mee goreng
3. Fried rice with salted fish
4. Sweet and sour pork rice
5. Dark gravy Hokkien Mee
6. Fried bee hoon with the char siew n shrimp n what not
7. Diced chicken with onion and ginger
