The New Semester
The new sem has started. And I can't believe it's my last sem in NUS.
There's a lot of apprehension. Actually, I feel quite lost for my thesis, like I've been trying to do my Lit Review but i feel i've hit a wall, and I don't know what to write le. I can't imagine I will be working on this same MS Word document for the next 3 months practically full-time. At this point, I think it's actually frustrating me a lot.
On the brighter side, I met my first PDMM 陪读妈妈 yesterday! I must admit, I had a pretty tough time communicating with her, thankfully Caiying was around to help out a little. She's not one of my research participants, just a main contact through which I hope to get the contacts for the rest of the PDMMs, so it was ok for Caiying to be around. But on the other hand, this lady was SO chirpy and cheery! She had a real zest to help her child succeed here in Singapore, and really, nothing brightens my day more than seeing someone working hard to do well in life, and a kind of resilience that goes to the point of saying 'no leh, no real difficulties' when we know full well that is not really possible.
So I guess that was one of the many highlights of yesterday!
Not many classes this sem, I hope I will be able to use my time wisely man. The lack of structure can either make me or break me. But I do generally enjoy flexibility I guess.
I still maintain what I said to KY.. we'll need a lot of support this sem. :)
