Education
Graduation is just amazing. I just saw the pictures of the SW people who graduated, and also looked through the pictures I took on the Navs Grad Nite, and I'm just amazed that 3 years has passed. It really does seem like yesterday that I moved into PGP for my first sem.
First some pictures, then the reflections, ok?
Me on the drums for Grad nite. :)
Our gloria-ous emcees: Jye Yau and Gloria
James & Me
Zach, James, Me and Mark-SeowOverNoel'sBody
First group of graduates to be Oprah-interviewed
JeeLee, my very very very dear sister making her point. She's really been through so much. U rock, Jee Lee!
Noel giving a classic speech about 'Loving in the 4th Dimension'
Jason and Feli (over the years, these two names just kinda come together in the same sentence) being interviewed
JeeLee, Julia, Me!
Noel and Me!
I think, I really shuld use this chance to thank and appreciate all these people who have been such a large part of my life for these past 3 years. I think I'm especially going to miss those from my BS group: Jee Lee, Noel, Jason and Feli. JeeLee has been a trustworthy confidante to me, and someone I could always count on to be there when I needed someone to talk to. Noel has always been wonderful in his gentle support and timely shoulder pats and squeezes. He's gonna make a wonderful army officer. As for Jason and Felicia, I really haven't known them for that long, but Jason has been great. Always funny, and always cheerful and jovial. Felicia is amazing in the gifts she makes for people. I still use her Bible-memory casing for my Bible memory, and she has blessed us with so much more.. even just her presence is just so cheering.
On the other hand, I'm just amazed at the sweetness of education. Frankly, I've grown a lot in my mind and my thinking and analytical ability over the past 3 years in NUS. But what amazes me is the scene I saw as I walked in from the kitchen with my morning coffee. My mom was there with my auntie ah khim (the lady who works in my family to help with some of the household chores, and over the years has become a family friend), and of course my 5 year old niece. I'm amazed, cos this auntie of mine is illiterate, but she has become an integral part of my niece's education. She teaches my niece the right way to do things, what should be done and what should not, affirms her work, holding the right values of hard work and integrity. It's amazing. And she lives every one of those principles herself. :)
1 more year of formal education, lifelong honing of values and love.
