Navteens Camp
Got back late last night from playing for the band at the Navteens camp. It didn't help that the worship time started a whole TWO HOURS late. As much as I'd love to give grace, it's also crucial to sound out that some things are unacceptable. You can't invite an outside band in to play for your event and drag for two hours expecting them to wait for you to get started.
In any case, the time we had dragged longer than planned, but it was cool. The kids were only starting to warm up after we finished our last song 'Everyday', and so RL decided to kickstart it again with an encore of 3 songs. Haha.. well I thought I heard the kids shouting 'encore, encore' after we finished.. but apparently Ben heard them saying 'aircon' instead. Apparently the aircon at the front was not working and I was literally drinking my own perspiration, hoping darned hard it wouldn't get into my eye.
But yeah. Playing for a buncha teens for a worship session is awesome. I loved the time when we sang 'How Great is Our God' during the encore, and the whole band stopped playing. All we heard was 120 youths singing at the top of their lungs back at us 'How great is our God, sing with me, how great is our God, and all will see how great, how great is our God'. It was amazing, definitely one of the most moving scenes of my life as a drummer (which isn't a very long time, anyway).
This song is one song that always causes me to sing at the very very top of my lungs, till i'm breathless and panting and it just blows my mind at how great and good God is.
In the days of our youth, there are so many things that lure us from the path of goodness and mercy. That's why in Ecclesiastes 12 it says 'Remember thy Creator in the days of thy youth.'
Remember. Remember... Keep our hearts secure and satisfied in Thee.

I am disheartened to read your entry. In future please find out why worship had to start 2 hours late. It wasnt within anyone's control.
I'm not sure who you are.Perhaps Junhao or Keng San? Let me clarify a few things. Firstly, the entry wasn't meant personally as an attack on the camp organisers. However, I maintain that it is not right to allow invited people to wait for 2 hours, whether or not the circumstances were controllable. Please also understand that others also have their other commitments to tend to and will not always be able to wait for 2 hours before the event actually starts.
Hi Liren,
I would like to apologise for the long wait. I thank you for bearing with us and to put aside your other commitments.
What matters at the end was we praised God with all our hearts and worshipped Him! =)
