Don't Waste Your Life

Life's a journey - don't forget to unpack.

Where it all meets

Perhaps then, it is at the cross of Christ that we find what we crave for most deeply in this world. Love and sacrifice, justice and mercy, faithfulness and grace. It is at the cross of Christ that all these meet, and if we dig deep enough into the core of our being, we will find that these are the things we will live and die for. - Me

To you, my reader. :)

There, look on me, so that you may not praise me beyond what I am; there, believe me, not others, about myself; there, attend to me and see what I have been in myself, through myself. - St Augustine

Band Practice

Just got back from band practice with the Nav band leading e last night for the Navteens camp. It's Ronglong on Guitar and worship leader, Zac on keys, Junhao on bass, Ben and Ivy on backup vocals, and of course i'm on drums.

I realised it takes so much discipline to play properly in a band. People often see the drummer as the 'anyhow whack' guy. But if I anyhow whack, i'd be totally out of sync with the rest of the band. If I don't play my bass drum at the right timing, I'd sound too sharp and the bassist wouldn't be of much effect. The one thing I learnt today is to control and discipline the right leg. :)

We practiced through all the songs and while I wasn't too spectacular, my heart kinda sank at the end when the camp organiser suggested that we put in fast songs like One Way and Everyday. I don't really feel good enough to do those songs, watching the drum cover of those songs on Youtube kinda made me a lil worried.

The thing is, in church, me the drummer just follows along with everyone. With this Nav band, I'm the leader, the beat-holder, one of the main mood-creators, and the rest of the band kinda follow me. haha.. talk about stress.

Well. I think I might just go down to church these next few days and practice a bit more. :)
