Lihuan's birthday
Well, I must say, it's finally over! Lihuan's 21st Birthday party was a blast! Well, she started thinking about it since about February when I met her for lunch at Engin canteen. I agreed to come on board as one of the people who helped to organise. The whole organisation process was freaky though, and at one point I honestly thought the whole party was going to fall apart. Thankfully, things smoothened out with the subsequent meetings and discussions.
Yet, just when I was about to think that things were falling into place, Lihuan arrived at my home on Saturday (3 hours before the party)almost in tears. She had planned this day for months, just so she could appreciate her mother with a little thank-you speech. But on the day itself, her mom didn't want to come. Thankfully, my mom came into the picture and eventually helped to iron out the issues and got her to the party site.
I guess, after all the logistics, meetings, food-booking-and-buying-and-collecting, decor, music, what really held the whole party together was the crowd's common love for our dear sister Lihuan, and Lihuan's love for those who were in her life. She said this during her speech: 'If it were not for God, I would not have been able to understand and even appreciate the love that you all have given to me.'
Don't you see the wisdom in that statement? It is no less than a revelation to her from the Living God.
I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen; not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.
