Don't Waste Your Life

Life's a journey - don't forget to unpack.

Where it all meets

Perhaps then, it is at the cross of Christ that we find what we crave for most deeply in this world. Love and sacrifice, justice and mercy, faithfulness and grace. It is at the cross of Christ that all these meet, and if we dig deep enough into the core of our being, we will find that these are the things we will live and die for. - Me

To you, my reader. :)

There, look on me, so that you may not praise me beyond what I am; there, believe me, not others, about myself; there, attend to me and see what I have been in myself, through myself. - St Augustine

East

East.

The direction where the sun rises from.

Today I understood a bit more of why the Psalmist said:'From the rising of the sun, to the place where it sets, let the name of the Lord be praised'.

Sunrises and sunsets are the most beautiful scenes on earth. Trust me. Ask anyone of us Singaporeans here (ok, i'm e only one who has seen a sunrise here, cos e rest can't wake up on time), but all the rest have seen sunsets.

I woke up later than I expected today. Wanted to be up by 5:45am to prepare and rush out to catch e 6:29am bus, but I only managed to haul myself out of bed at 6:15. As a result, I could only catch the 6:56 bus, and i arrived at New Brighton Pier just at the very moment the sun peeked out from the horizon. I whipped out my camera, set it to video mode, and video-ed the sun coming up. It was seriously one of the most beautiful scenes I had ever seen in my life.

To the south, I saw mist and clouds that filled the horizon and the place where the clouds and the waves met. To the north, the mountains were casting shadows on each other from the rising sunlight.

I wonder how long heat takes to travel. Cos I was so darned cold in the winter sea-breeze at first, but as the sun rose, I just felt its warmth radiate onto my face.. reminded me of the song 'His love is warmer than the warmest sunshine'. It's such a weird yet nice feeling to haf the cold winter breeze in one side of your face, and the warmth of the sun on another.

That man fishing at the pier. I'm not sure how often he fishes there, but from his skill, it looks like he's a real expert. He must live the most satisfying life ever.

Because when we see the sunrise, we are eternally satiated with the recognition of our Creator's love and faithfulness.

Cheers.
