I could have saved $290
Well, some of you know that my spectacles broke sometime in late Nov/ early Dec due to a faulty door in the office that slammed in my face. The door was never faulty before and has never been faulty again.
And so, besides enduring the pain of wearing broken and loose spectacles at work, plus running a Children's Camp with those spectacles, I had to pay another $290 for a new pair which did not have Transitions lenses like my previous pair. I had only paid about $200+ previously for 2 pairs of specs from Nanyang Optical: one with Transitions and one without. I can't find the pair without transitions now.
Until I met Melvyn a few weeks ago. Then I realised. I could have saved $290.

Old pair of lan diao specs.
$2 specs from Daiso (Always $2!)
lan diao specs in transition. Notice the left side ear-hooker (what exactly do you call those things??) is thinner that the right side.
Unscrewed ear-hookers from the lan diao specs. (Woots. Unscrewed.. hookers.. hmmm)
Required tools.
Final product!

So yes. As you can see, what I basically did was to take my old specs with its broken hookers, buy a pair of cheap specs and replace the hookers from the new cheap specs onto the new ones! VOILA! And yea. Now my once-lan-diao specs are worth $2 more. And my new specs.. erm.. what should I do with them? (I like the transitions lenses laa...)
haha!
