川馆子
ok. i've decided. the food at the above mentioned stall reallie isn't for Singaporean tastebuds. let me do a mini-food review here:
麻婆豆腐:
extremely salty and oily. almost inedible. the last time i ate it, it was so salty it stung my tastebuds.
回锅肉:
woah.. this dish is quite shiok on first bite. by the time u hit the 5th piece of meat, u wanna die from e oil and the spice.
土豆牛肉:
for those of you who don't already know, 土豆 is another term for potatoes. this dish consists of braised beef with potatoes. unfortunately, the potatoes are overcooked to the point where the texture is powdery and the beef is, again, way too salty.
And guess what. After all these experiences, I happily went to order from the same stall for dinner last night. And you know what? My dinner was fabulous!
Now now. This is a new dish. Look at those fabulous beans (i aint sure if they're long beans or french beans, cos it doesnt taste like either), they're stir-fried with minced pork and other condiments, served together with piping hot rice.
There's a catch though. It's spicy. Very. But i only found 1 piece of dried chilli in it leh.
It's salty. As usual. Nuff said.
It's SOUR. OMG. SOUR. I dunno what on earth they put into it, but it was sour! argh.. i think they put vinegar. I recall how my housemate puts vinegar into his maggi mee. Ok. Accepted.
BUT OMG!!!!! It smells like PEE!! I'm serious. I'm not joking. The smell is enough to choke you. I dunno how I managed to actually eat 1/3 of those beans. argh. after that, seriously, enough was enough. Hob tasted ONE bean and she had to gulp water down after that.
Ok, owner of 川馆子, please tell me what goes into your food next time k?
